Mengly J. Quach Research Center
MJQRC believes that for Cambodia to be able to liberate itself from its traumatic history and to be well integrated into ASEAN and the wider global community, we need to study and understand the past social turmoil, critically address and solve the current underlying issues, and anticipate the challenges and opportunities ahead. Cambodia is thus in need of a strong and vibrant community of research.
Building up a genuine and harmonious Cambodia is a national process. Cambodian emerging and promising scholars will have the responsibility to tackle many of the issues that deeply affect the country and how we want to see ourselves as a nation. Every thread is woven into our national fabric – our history, culture, justice, trust, social and moral development, perceptions, and laws all define who we are. In this respect, the Mengly J. Quach Research Center (MJQRC) is providing a space to dig deeper and further explore these fundamental issues. We see our center as becoming a home to the research community in Cambodia and the region, spanning the fields of inquiry in social science, arts and humanities, areas of knowledge that are so essential to better understand ourselves and how we interact with others both regionally and globally.
