Mr. Chheangmay Kheang is an accomplished educator and academic leader with a rich and diverse background in educational management and English language teaching. His educational journey began at the Institute of Foreign Languages (IFL) in Cambodia, where he earned a Bachelor of English Language Teaching in 2015. Driven by a desire to further enhance his knowledge and skills, Mr. Chheangmay pursued a Master of Education at the Royal University of Phnom Penh, graduated in 2019. He also gained international exposure as an exchange student at Hiroshima University, Japan, in 2017 and earlier as an awardee of the JENESYS Program in Japan in 2009. These experiences have enriched his understanding of global educational practices and multicultural learning environments. In recognition of his academic excellence and potential for leadership in education, Mr. Chheangmay Kheang was awarded the prestigious Australia Awards Scholarship in 2020. This opportunity enabled him to obtain a Master of Educational Management and Leadership from the University of Sydney, Australia, which is one of the top 20 universities in the world.
His professional career is marked by significant contributions to the field of education in Cambodia and beyond. Starting as a Teacher of English at Aii Language Center from 2014 to 2015 and at Australian Centre for Education (ACE) from 2015 to 2022, he demonstrated a commitment to student success and instructional excellence. His expertise was further recognized through his role as an Academic Coordinator for the Pre-Departure Training program for Manaaki New Zealand scholarship in 2021-2022, where he played a vital role in preparing students for international academic experiences. In 2019-2020, Mr. Chheangmay also served as a Teacher Trainer for the Teacher Upgrading Program at the Royal University of Phnom Penh, contributing to the professional development of secondary school teachers coming from various public schools across Cambodia. In May 2024, Mr. Chheangmay assumed the position of Campus Director at Aii Language Center. In this role, he continues to demonstrate his commitment to educational excellence and leadership, overseeing the academic and operational aspects of the center.
Throughout his career, Mr. Chheangmay has actively engaged in numerous professional development opportunities, contributing both as a participant and a presenter. Notably, he has been a presenter at the CamTESOL Conference in 2016, 2017, and 2024. In February 2024 and September 2023, he was invited to share insights on applying for Australia Awards Scholarships in the Tips Sharing Series. December 2023 saw him speaking at the University of Sydney's Study Abroad Information Session. Additionally, in November 2023, he participated in an Oxford University Press professional development session focused on teaching low proficiency classes. Earlier engagements include being an invited speaker for the GILC Talk in 2018, addressing IELTS Writing Task 2, and speaking at the Study Abroad Fair at Hiroshima University in December 2017.
Mr. Chheangmay's story is one of perseverance, dedication and a relentless pursuit of excellence in education. His leadership and passion continue to make a significant impact on the educational landscape, inspiring future generations of educators and students.
