Ever wonder why is every expensive private school focused heavily on their arts? It has nothing to do with social status or keeping kids to mingle in the same social circle. Unfortunately, that is one of the misconceptions some of us believe.
Years of studies have shown that arts have many links to academic achievement because they learn other things when doing arts. I will give a couple of examples to give a bigger picture. When you learn musical notes, you learn fractions. When you paint, you learn about perspective, volume, history, symbolism. When you dance, you learn about culture and movements. When you write, you learn about literature, creativity, and passion. And remember that arts take many forms; it can shape many interests in any child.
So, if you want your children to thrive academically, immerse them into the arts.
