“Our ability to reach unity in diversity will be the beauty and the test of our civilization.” Mahatma Gandhi.

Culture is an important part of who we are, it is essential because it shapes us into human beings that possess genuine morals and values that retains the light in our soul, shining at its brightest.

Our world is filled with over 3814 cultures that have graceful, bold and impeccable traditions which are valuable. We can partake from this wisdom and knowledge even though we may not be indigenous to those particular customs or heritage.

The amount of diversity that exists in this world is astounding, I have had contrasting experiences with people that I have interacted with from different countries and there was definitely a lesson to be learned each time.

Living in Cambodia has been a major culture shock and I have learned to embrace every aspect of it. After 3 years of being here, I am still in constant amazement at the amount of respect I receive and I say this with no intent of being disdainful to my cultures. My country of origin is a beautiful place with incredible people and it is diverse in every manner but each country has divergent traditions that can teach us different ethics.

I admire the uniqueness of my Indian and African culture but it is absolutely invigorating to learn about other countries religions because it has shown me how to be more open to diverseness and taught me traits which has me blossoming into a more phenomenal individual, do not be afraid to be broad-minded!
