Siem Reap, the heart of the former glorious Khmer Empire, has been considered the hub of tourism in Cambodia, thanks to the existence of Angkor Archeological Park and countless other ancient temples. As a melting pot located near the Thai border, the province also has great potential for other multinational sectors.

However, it appears that the local population is currently unprepared to realize the province’s potential, especially in terms of foreign language skills. According to the 2019 Census, only 8.2 % of the province’s population of 1,014,234 can speak and write English while just about 1.6 percent can speak other foreign languages apart from Khmer as their mother tongue.

Aii Language Center- Siem Reap Campus is here to fill this gap!

The upcoming new campus of Aii Language Center, already well-known for its superior educational services and initiatives in Cambodia, is aimed at serving the demand for quality education in Siem Reap.

Aii Language Center-Siem Reap Campus, with the motto of “Quality, Discipline, and Services” at the core of its operation, will be soon offering a wide range of English and Chinese language programs to meet the varying needs of learners of all ages and levels.

According to Ms. Leakhena Kong, the Campus Director of Aii Language Center-Siem Reap Campus is prepared to assist students in learning and improving their language skills with an internationally acclaimed curriculum and highly-qualified educators.

“The curriculum of Aii Language Center is based on the needs of the students, which is very important in the 4th Industrial Revolution and 21st Century education,” she says.

“The curriculum is based not only on evaluations and academic objectives, but also on the application of practical life skills, fundamental values for personal or professional growth, and information and media literacy skills to help students b-ecome future-ready.”

Ms. Leakhena adds that Aii maintains a dynamic and forward-thinking mindset that involves research and adapting the types of education that our surrounding Asian countries and First World countries deliver to their students.

“Our teachers come from a variety of countries: those who speak English as a first language, such as Canada, the United States, and Australia; those who have learned English as a second language, like Philippines, Nigeria, and India; and those who have proven to be the best of the best in Cambodia,” she says.

“Our school’s backbone and heart are formed by these highly qualified and experienced teachers.”

Aii Language Center always gives the best when it comes to learning facilities, and the Siem Reap Campus is no exception. Occupying the former Le Trèfle Angkor Hotel, the upcoming campus is being renovated to become a learning community dedicated to building respectful and responsible citizens and empowering all learners.

“Our classrooms and campuses are designed with the comfort, well-being, and safety of our students in mind,” Ms. Leakhena says.

“We aim to provide a friendly and open atmosphere with wide-open spaces where our students can study, learn and exchange ideas.”

Apart from the excellent courses, students will also be able to enjoy other services housed by Aii, including TESOL House and TOEFL Testing Center, which open their window to the world. Furthermore, they will be able to benefit from extracurricular activities such as Students’ Clubs and CSR initiatives (Window Painting, Run for Charity, Green Day…, etc.)

“Change takes time, but the Aii Language Center is laying the groundwork for Cambodian students to become globally competitive,” Ms. Leakhena says.

Aii Language Center, along with its sister company American Intercon School, is a Mengly J. Quach Education (MJQE) subsidiary. Founded in 2005 with only 5 staff and 45 students, Aii Language Center has grown to be the biggest foreign language learning hub in the country and a significant partner with the government in enhancing the country’s education quality and human resources.
