
Have you ever noticed your energy steadily declines after midday of work? For those who sits behind a desk all day, some experience a shift in their productivity level. As the day progress the outputs throughout the day decreases compared to the ones accomplished in the first few hours after coming in to work in the morning. While most believe that exhaustion can be the only reason for this, research suggests that there are a number of factors leads to low productivity towards the end of the day.
Experts explain that mid-afternoon slump in productivity is most commonly felt between one to four in the afternoon. Based on studies, a human body is not designed to run at a high energy pace all day long.
However, an educational psychologists advise that productivity slump may be mitigated with some healthy tips. They suggest that having a good sleep the night before helps a person to sustain her or his energy throughout the day. Keeping yourself hydrated and avoiding too much caffeine can keep energy at optimum level. Changing your environment by taking a brief stroll around your work place can do the trick. Socializing is also another way to veer away from a sleepy afternoon. Having an engaging conversation with a colleague about your work or getting feedback about a task can go long way to maintain a high level energy.
Taking a power nap is not the only way to jolt you from a sleepy afternoon.
