On October 21, 2022, I had the pleasure of speaking at the Grow4growth Career preparedness event at Phnom Penh International University. The Presenters beside myself were the Philippines’ very own supermom, Ms. Sophia “Khendy” Altamirano (Cluster Director of Sales and Marketing Raffles Hotel Cambodia), Cambodias’ Charming and kind-hearted Mr. Net Sophea (Chip Mong Bank Branch Manager), and Cambodias’ Golden Boy Mr. Povrotheayea Suon “Ffee” (Deputy CEO and Head of Sales Marketing of Dreamteam / Mediaload (Cambodia) Co, Ltd.) We all spoke about our company, where we work, and what inspired us to stay; I told my story of why the Education field always interests me and why I was intrigued to work with Aii Language Center and MJQE Group. I told them that meeting and seeing Mr. Mengly J. Quach talking about education and educating Cambodia made me realize that the company’s vision of education is the same as mine.
It was an interesting discussion, especially when Ms. Kim Tan (Organizational Leadership Coach and Trainer Consultant and many more. Seriously, this lady is a real superwoman !!) spoke about what traits make someone thrive and succeed in their career, to summarize we all gave similar answers: the willingness to make your own path, Self-confidence, clear-cut goals, motivation and taking the initiative, patience and continuing to exercise, discipline, the ability to communicate effectively with others, Having integrity, the willingness to learn, to take responsibility as well as admitting your mistakes, self-reliance, optimism, passionate about your work, creative, and last but the most essential thing is resilience and never give up.
