What is the basic unit of society? It is the family and this is what makes a nation develop and progress. In this article, I will provide the core family values and why it is important and how we can involve ourselves in making these values part of our community. What are family values?

These are values that involve how you want to live your family life, and they are often passed down from the previous generations. The core family values are respect, love, humility, responsibility, and spirituality. Why are family values important? This is important because as a parent it is the reflection of who we are. When we communicate and live those values, our children learn life lessons. They learn to express themselves, solve problems, learn from mistakes, and develop other skills and abilities that can lead to fulfilling lives. If you have no idea of the values your family practices, I suggest you have a family meeting and involve all members of your family. List down all the challenges and problems your family is experiencing and match the family values that can be used to resolve these problems and set an action plan that aims to incorporate these values.

I would like to share a quote from Lyndon B. Johnson said: The family is the cornerstone of our society. More than any other force it shapes the attitude, the hopes, the ambitions, and the values of the child. And when the family collapses it is the children that are usually damaged. When it happens on a massive scale the community itself is crippled.
