Normally I love eating food, especially soup, but I don’t eat hot food if it is packed in plastic bags or containers. It’s been claimed that hot soup in plastic bags or containers is bad for our health. According to research, eating hot food packed in plastic bags have adverse effect to our health.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare In Taiwan said that in 2014, breast cancer was the disease that had the highest number of patients. There were more than 10,000 breast cancer patients in one year alone. The Director of Breast Cancer Center in Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital, Zheng, said that Taiwanese generally suffer from breast cancer after menopause or before the age of 40.
Those who suffer from breast cancer under 40 years old has a habit of buying hot food to be taken away in flimsy plastic bags or containers, a common habit of Taiwanese and Malaysian people. The heat from the food in the plastic bags can lead to the release of dangerous chemicals which are absorbed by the food and consumed by us.
“In the last two years, the number of patients suffering from kidney and throat cancer and infertility has increased markedly at the King Goerge Hospital (KGH) in India. The patients had been consuming tea, coffee, milk, rice and curries carried in plastic bags.
Plastic poses serious environmental problems. According to Dr. Madhusudan of KGH, plastic bags used for packing food are very dangerous as they contain polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene.
“If a person eats food items carried in plastic bags for a long period, he or she is very likely to get serious health problems,” he said, adding that thousands of patients affected by polyvinyl chloride come to the hospital for treatment regularly.
